Xue Dingshan is an ancient historical drama produced by Yihongzhixin Media, directed by Huang Zuquan and starring Chi Shuai, Fu Miao, Duan Qingqing, He Yanni and Li Chengfeng.
The story is about the rebellion of Su Feng and his sons against the Tang Dynasty during the reign of Emperor Jingguan of the Great Tang Dynasty, and how Marshal Xue Rengui, who was ordered to fight against the Tang Dynasty, was killed by a traitor.
The drama is a sequel to the 2006 TV series The Legend of Xue Rengui starring Bao Jianfeng, and aired on Shaanxi TV on April 29, 2014.
During the reign of Emperor Gao Zong of the Tang Dynasty, the king of Xiliang, the feudal territory of Xiliang under the jurisdiction of the Tang Dynasty, adopted the strategy of his marshal Shu Bao Tong, who wanted to dominate the Central Plains and raise an army to Chang’an. Xue Rengui was ordered to take command of the expedition to quell the rebellion in the west, and Gao Zong Li Zhi drove the expedition himself, but was unfortunately trapped in the city of Shenyang on the way. Shu Baotong led his military advisors Tie Ban Taoist and Flying Cymbal Zen Master to surround the city with millions of soldiers. Qin Huaiyu and Yuchi Baolin were killed during the siege, while Xue Rengui was severely wounded by Shu Bao Tong’s poisonous flying dagger.

The son of Xue Rengui, Xue Dingshan, was taught by his master, Wang Ao, to read the art of war and to practice his martial arts. After the examination, Xue Dingshan defeated all the heroes and heroines to become the marshal of the western expedition. He ordered Luo Tong as the vanguard of the front line, Luo Zhang and Qin Ying as the vanguard, Cheng Qianzhong as the vanguard of the rear line, and Yuchi Qingshan as the escort of provisions. Xue Dingshan led an army of 300,000 troops to speed to Xieyang City to save the city and quell the rebellion. Xue Dingshan led 300,000 troops to Xieyang City to put down the rebel general Shu Baotong and successfully accomplished his mission of quelling the rebellion in the west.
